"to our relaunched website and a new academic year."
The UWC News welcomes you to their latest edition. They have reports on some of the large number of activities and events that take place in our school
"As of September 2013 UWC Maastricht has moved to a new campus."
"Our UWC education is founded on seven educational principles inspired by Kurt Hahn."
UWC Maastricht is one of the youngest UWC schools and unique in the movement as the only state-supported whole school, educating children from pre-school through high school. Our diverse student body boasts representation from over 90 countries and territories including 160 residential students who are selected through the UWC national committees system to complete their final two years of high school with us.
At the heart of UWC is a belief in friendship - the conviction that the close ties forged between students of diverse nations in their developmental years will last a lifetime and provide the framework upon which peace and a sustainable future may be built. These bonds are not formed in the classroom alone, but equally through our co-curricular programme with its emphasis on service. As a community, we believe in the growth mindset - that intelligence, personality and character can be developed and a person’s true potential is unknown (and unknowable) and that teachers and students have much to learn from, and with, each other. We also believe in giving students appropriate and authentic responsibility as part of their learning journey, allowing them to develop their courage and capacity to test their limits - to try, fail and try again - in a safe environment. UWC students, staff and graduates are all committed to actively contribute to their communities and in so doing to make the world a better place.
I invite you to visit our website, or better yet, to visit our school to discover more about what makes us unique.
